Prayers Answered … a double edged sword

February 22, 2022

We got our first storm of 2022! We are so grateful for the moisture! Living in the southwest we don't usually get a lot of moisture but these past couple of years its been worse than ever. When we woke up to about 4 inches of snow on Wednesday we were ecstatic! And we were even happier when it continued to snow off and on all day. Unfortunately it is probably too late for most of my mustard crop I planted last fall in the vineyard, but it is looking good for the fall cover crop in the vegetable garden. In our area every drop of precipitation helps. Sadly, along with the snow came some crazy cold low temperatures so it has me concerned about the grapes surviving it. Another part of the "double edged sword" is due to the wonderful snow, I slid off the road and through a fence damaging the Jeep and now I'm stressing about the unexpected financial hit and beating myself up about going so fast in icy conditions. Seems like so many trials and stress lately!  I have to really focus on the blessings instead of giving up.
